While I was reading through David Wiltshire's Research Paper 'Ubiquitous Computing - Social Challenges in the 3rd Age of Computing', I came across an interesting study called the Familiar Stranger Project. Run by the Intel Research Lab at Berkley their main objective is to use wireless ubiquitous computing to connect those people we walk past everyday. These Familiar Strangers share the same spaces we do but we never seem to connect with them. But what if we could? How much could we learn from them? A quicker route home, how to skip paying on the tube or maybe some gossip about another 'Familiar Stranger'!

To explain a little bit more take a look at their promo video here.
